I read in the Plain Dealer we're playing smack em back baseball now. I don't quite know what that is but it worked yesterday and today as we beat the White Sox again 8-4. Am I satisfied? Nope. Branyan keep striking out and keeps starting and we scored all 8 runs in 1 inning. I know we didn't need any more but who knows? Omar and Thome came through with key hits and Burkes hit a ball to deep short and maybe thats why it was misplayed. A few more wins like this and we won't be talking trade. Who am I kidding, we'll be on a 4 game skid starting tomorrow.

We beat the White Sox? Not only that, we shut them out. Bartolo went the distance as we won 7-0. I thought for sure we'd lose the next six games. As usual Branyan had a pair of strike outs. So he's inching toward a strike out every other at bat. But, the big news is we might trade Colon to Milwaukee for a couple of top prospects. That's the stupidest thing we could do. There's no substitute for pitching and he's the best we have. Maybe we can let Finley go for a top prospect but not Colon. And it's time to get rid of Branyan. Let him go to the National League and become a star like Giles or Sexson.

At any other time I'd be mad about a split with Detroit. This year I'll take it. We won a wild one 11-7. The score was like 6-1 then it was 6-6. But I guess our late pitching was better than there's. Thome and Burks provided the power each hitting 2 home runs.

We scored early but not nearly enough as Detroit beat us again 9-5. They scored 8 runs in the 7th inning to put this one away. The game started well enough as we scored three in the first, but I knew that didn't mean anything.

Hey, the score was 4-2 again but we ended up on the winning side. And whats more, we beat Detroit. Not that it means anything. To me it just means we can't lose 139 games this year. Pretty sorry comment huh? Well, I'm an Indians fan. Thanks to Ellis Burks' 8th inning home run breathing room. We needed it too. Wickman got the first 2 batters in the ninth before loading the bases. Then a first pitch ground ball to Vizquel ended it. Chuck Finley has been pitching pretty good lately too. He lost a couple of tough games his last 2 times out by 1-0 and 2-0 scores.

Mark Redmon. He can't beat anybody in the league except for Cleveland, and to prove it, he beat us again today 4-1. We managed 4 hits including a home run by Ellis Burks. I watched some of the game today before I went to work. Looks like we were going through the motions of playing baseball. Or maybe it was baseball for the disinterested. Anyway as soon as the Tigers went ahead, I shut it off conceeding the defeat. The only good thing I can say about today was at least Branyan didn't play.

We swept the Blue Jays. I can't believe we could sweep anybody anymore, but we won 3-1. Colon did some pretty good pitching racking up a complete game. I see they finally sat Gutterriez down. I don't think McDonald is the answer by a long shot though. There's just something between a .225 and a .325 hitter. Robbie Alomar would have been worth it. And, Russ Branyan continued striking out today, With the bases loaded all he had to do was shorten his swing and hit the ball somewhere. Even a double play grounder would have scored a run. But he struck out ending up on one knee. I guess we looked good cause Toronto looked bad. This week it was Cle 3-Tor 1, Cle 3-Tor 0, Cle 5-Tor 2, Det 2-Cle 0, Det 5-Cle 1, Det 4-Cle 3. We outscored our opponents 14-13.
